ARTIST STATEMENT

My name is Jun Baek, an EMERGING ARTIST.

 

BIOGRAPHY

Jun Baek (b. 2003) is a multidisciplinary Korean Canadian artist based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. His artistic practice explores the relationship between institutions and emerging artists, questioning how artists are defined, supported, and positioned within the contemporary art world. Through collaborations with artists working across diverse mediums, Baek creates connections and alternative forms of guidance, community, and exchange for emerging artists navigating an art world where structures, expectations, and pathways can often feel ambiguous. Baek’s practice is grounded in an interdisciplinary methodology that brings together diverse forms of art through collaborative processes. By connecting artists across the world, he seeks to contribute to a more open and supportive environment for artists finding their place within the contemporary art landscape.​
